A series of works named Transitions consists of five different works made from aluminum and black silicone. On this page, only two of the five works are showcased. These works feature objects that are arranged in space in various ways; some hang from the wall while others occupy the floor. In the production of silicon pieces a hydro isolation silicon substance was used, either by coating canvas armatures or nylon sheets. Aluminum pieces were fashioned from sheet metal plates and connected together with bolts/screws. All objects present a contrast between cold, geometric structures (aluminum pieces) and anthropomorphic, “skin-like” abstractions (silicone pieces). The aforementioned contrast connotes a certain “transition”, precisely from the point of a shift between visual forms – from rigid to elastic. In symbolic terms, the “transition” between sharp aluminum structures and soft silicone masses becomes closely linked to the human body (the contrast between bones and muscles), its action and change. Although static, these works present a certain condition of changing where they seem “frozen” in the moment of transitioning. This notion can also be seen as a representation of “speed”, as a group of shapes that are “trapped” and constantly in their process of change – much like human bodies and human attitudes.
